As many of our Oakley family starts the transition back to the office, our goal is to make the process as smooth as possible. When you return, you’ll notice your work environment will feel a little different than before. That’s because we’ve taken extra measures to make sure our workplace is clean and safe.

An example of one of the changes we’ve made are plastic extensions that we’ve installed into cubicles to enhance distancing and protection. Along with that, we’ve also stocked up on PPE Equipment such as gloves, masks and hand sanitizer for employee use.

While prioritizing safety and health for our return to the office is necessary, let’s make sure to also remember to be kind, courteous and patient with one another during a time where stress and worry can be elevated. To make things easy, we put together a list of helpful tips to remember when you make it back to the office. See you soon!

  1. Always practice social distancing when you’re around people. We know how excited everyone is to be reunited with each other, but maintain six feet distance and avoid hugs and handshakes.
  2. Keep a face mask handy at all times. While in your work area, you may or may not want to wear one, but when walking through the office you must have one on.
  3. While surfaces will be cleaned during the day, keep lysol or wipes nearby to clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as your desk, keyboard, phone, door knobs, etc.
  4. Make sure to wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  5. Try to avoid using other employees’ phones, desks, offices or work tools. If necessary, clean and disinfect them before you use them.
  6. If you have to travel between departments, you will notice blue arrows on the floor indicating the direction you should walk. Adhere to this traffic flow pattern when possible.
  7. To limit foot traffic, use TEAMS or Nextiva apps to contact on-campus coworkers.
  8. Make sure to check your temperature before going into work. If your temperature exceeds 100.4, notify Human Resources and your department manager and do not come in. If you’re feeling sick, stay home.
  9. When you walk into the building you will notice a Medical Questionnaire as well as a stay-home-from-work poster. Read and answer the questions before going into work. If you find yourself answering yes to any of the questions, contact your immediate supervisor.
  10. Before leaving work, clear your desk of items so regular cleanings and deep cleanings can take place.
  11. Notify management if you are traveling by plane anywhere, especially to virus hot spots.
  12. Practice responsible social distancing even when you aren’t at the office and try to avoid areas that often exceed the allotted capacity (like bars and beaches)
  13. Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself. After returning to work you may experience a variety of emotions. This is normal. Talking through your feelings with someone you trust is a healthy way to process everything going on. Making sure you are eating well, getting plenty of rest and exercising is also a sure way to keep you calm throughout this process.

If you have a concern about the company policies and procedures relating to the company’s transition plan and implementation, please submit those concerns in writing to the Human Resources Department. Your concern will be addressed and a response will be communicated in writing back to you.
