Oakley Transport offers several advanced training programs for drivers looking to learn food-grade tanker service.
Our training program places the best-qualified candidates with the nation's best liquid bulk, food-grade trainers. The training is driver-focused in a peer-to-peer setting that is designed to garner the best results in the shortest time. Regarding the experience that our students have coming into our training programs, Oakley trainers treat drivers being trained as drivers, not students or "rookies." Our programs are built on respect and provide the most comprehensive training possible in the shortest time frame. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best liquid bulk, food-grade drivers in the industry. We do that by ensuring every driver leaving our programs is capable and completely confident to do the job. |
OPERATIONAL
TRAINING

Our training program aligns well with drivers familiar with pneumatic dry bulk tankers, hauled gasoline or chemicals, or transported milk.
These experiences translate well into liquid bulk, food-grade service. The OTP is designed to build on existing knowledge to reach the level required to provide the exceptional service our clients count on. The OTP is tailored to the driver's experience level and background and is designed to concentrate on the areas that the drivers have little or no experience with prior to entering training such as pump operation. We ensure our drivers get what they need in the OTP to be the safest and most proficient drivers possible when they have completed the program. HAZMAT (HME)
TRAINING

As one of the largest distilled spirits transporter in North America, it becomes vital to obtain HME certification. Obtaining Hazmat certification increases your load variety and allows more flexibility to ensure better home time and maximize your earning potential. We provide world-class training and guidance in a one-on-one setting that ensures your success.
HME Class is our driver training program that allows us to advance qualified drivers who have not had exposure to tanker operations and hazardous material loads. We take the time to address what the driver already knows from basic commercial vehicle operation and hone that knowledge to develop safe driver habits in liquid bulk tanker operations. According to HACCP and JPA guidelines, we teach the skills needed to handle food-grade materials. The HME Class offers drivers a complete training program to teach them all the required components to become safe and effective liquid bulk, food-grade tanker drivers. |
EQUIPMENTFrom the newest models of Peterbilt and Volvo tractors to our state-of-the-art equipment, we believe in investing in the best equipment to keep our drivers and customers happy.
In Lake Wales, Florida, we have a full-service tractor and trailer repair facility, staffed with over 20 well-trained and qualified technicians to handle all maintenance repairs. In order to maintain our fleet of Volvo tractors, we are an assigned Volvo training facility. Our technicians can acquire Volvo certification on-site through the customer service portal (Volvo University). The body shop can produce factory-type finishing and is equipped with full-time employees who are highly qualified to repair all types of body damage. We take pride in our early preventative maintenance program, scheduling PMs well before they are needed so we can ensure that the equipment is operating at peak performance. |
OUR FLEET

We have a Josam three-axle alignment system and Oakley tractors are on a regularly scheduled alignment program to assure alignment of each tractor axle and obtain the lowest cost per mile on tire wear within its fleet of over 500 tractors.
Our maintenance coordination department manages every breakdown from our location in Lake Wales, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The coordinators are highly skilled in handling breakdown calls and dealing with the day-to-day coordination of preventive maintenance of our fleet. Their No. 1 goal is to safely get the driver and equipment back to work as soon as possible. Our trailer shop has an "R" stamp for fabricating and is a CT-certified repair facility that performs all required VIKP inspections, as the department of transportation requires.
